What is Poverty? (Click for video)
In this 3 minute video Brian Fikkert (author of When Helping Hurts) examines poverty as more than simply being materially poor. He presents poverty as fractured relationships with God, self, others, and Creation. Fikkert gives a beautiful picture of how we are all poor and in need of a Savior.
We’d love to start a dialogue with the church about this.

Thanks for posting. I think it is very eye-opening to think of poverty in terms of broken relationships with either God, self, others or creation. It is also good to see the poverty in ourselves (take the log out of our own eye) before helping others (taking the speck out of our brother’s or sister’s eye). This is so very difficult and can only be done by the grace of God. Much prayer is needed.
